The Covidien Surgitie™ Ligating Loop is an absorbable sterile surgical suture made of purified connective tissue, primarily collagen, sourced from bovine or serosal layer of beef intestines. This product is offered in two variations: Chromic Gut and Plain Gut. It is suitable for general soft tissue ligation and/or approximation, and can also be used in ophthalmic surgery, though it is not recommended for neurological or cardiovascular surgical procedures.
