The MaxTrax Diabetic Walker’s enlarged foot bed, adjustable uprights and shock-absorbing heel make it an optimal choice for treating plantar ulcers. Its tri-laminate insole, incorporating Impax™ Grid Technology, permits the removal of foam beneath the ulcer, thereby diminishing pressure around the wound. The bottom two foam layers may be removed around the affected regions to redistribute the load away from the healing ulcer. The key advantage of this design is that the top layer of foam always remains in contact with the foot’s plantar surface, thus preventing the formation of “hot spots.”
